About this Project
Starting in 2015, JVC had the privilege of helping the City of Coppell with professional services to help reconstruct and make improvements to Freeport Parkway from IH 635/Dividend Road north to West Bethel Road. The project included the design of approximately 7,000 linear feet of a four-lane divided roadway through an industrial area.
The survey scope included the collection of boundary monumentation, topographic survey, and preparation of separate instruments for easements and ROW dedications necessary for the proposed improvements to Freeport Parkway.
Engineering scope included reconstruction of a DART rail crossing, replacement and realignment of an existing bridge, replacement of water (9,800 LF 8”-20”), sanitary sewer (5,300 LF 8”-24”), and storm facilities (1,000 LF), street lighting, median landscaping and the addition of an on-street hike and bike trail. Open-cut and boring methods were utilized to install new mains. Due to the high traffic on the roadway and existing bridge, traffic planning/management and construction sequencing were of major consideration.
